iMovie What is it? iMovie is a simple, easy to use video editing program.
What can it be used for? Creating Movies instead of PPT presentations. Students also should be learning how to create movies so that they can be active participants in the media. iMovie makes it easy to include elements such as text, transitions, visuals and music; all elements that make the medium a powerful one. Pupils can then self and peer assess each other to improve their learning outcomes.
The benefits? Pupils are immediately enthused by the whole multi media side and their active participation in the movie trailer means learning is interactive and fun. It also encourages better collaboration when done in teams.
How can it improve student outcomes? Pupils can self and peer assess to allow for improvements the next time round.
Google docs
Using Google Drive as AB Tutor:
1. Ensure all pupils share their work with you on Google Drive as soon as they start:
3. You are now able to dip into each piece of work during the lesson to see how much they have done. Not foolproof AB tutor but a good way of keeping track of work rate in your lesson.
2. Now you should have all the students' work at the beginning of your "shared with me" folder on the Google Drive app on your iPad.
